Before I got on Usenet, my exposure to ascii art (other than the very simple kind) was mostly in (Amiga) BBS ascii scene. There even the smallest and simplest of the logos I've seen - little more that what you'd get from FIGLet - were always signed, and *no-one* would dare remove the initials.
