   Maybe it's not as "bad" as you think!  "Bad" is relative!  One
might say that "bad" is in the eye of the beholder!  In my case, I
see chessboards in this kind of thing.  But then I see chessboards
everywhere, what with having been an inventor of chess variations and
designer of chessboards for umpteen decades.  (As they used to say
in New York, that and fifty cents will get me a ride on the subway.
I hear that now it's a dollar-fifty.)
  
   Your design reminds me of some ascii artwork chessboards I whipped
up many years ago but never "published" anywhere.  I'm not sure how
much of it I posted here, but if readers will forbear some ascii art
that's much lamer than the fish above, I'll post it here now.  If
some is a repeat, my apologies, but these days I think we can use all
the legimitate ascii art activity we can get.  See following postings.
