Well... It turns the world metallic, and makes lights real purty, and then you can
move clouds and shit around. But you shouldn't steal other people's beer, and then
tell your pals that the folks up at the camp you took it from have a bunch of guns
and dogs, becuase when they pick up a latern and go down to the river to check their
trotline at midnight, everyone else will start to freak on your ass. Which is a lot
of fun to watch, but you want to be careful not to forget that you made up the part
about guns and dogs, when you point out that those folks are coming to look for who
stolt their beer, because you might freak out with everybody you are trying to have
a good time freaking out, and it might take you a while to remember you just made it
all up to freak them out, except for the part about stealing their beer, but people
ought to know better than leave an ice chest down by the river in their canoe. Of
course, somebody is allus gonna say that there is allus some asshole around who manages
to fuck up the whole evening, by freaking everybody out, but the truth is, they like
it when they get over the anxiety trip, and then they think it's real funny that you
freaked them all out. But that usually takes a while, after they all recover from being
freaked. About that time, you get real interested in the fire, or the end of a cigarette,
and that's about the time you notice that your buddy has these big, ugly freckles all
over his face, since they are all of a sudden emphasized by the moonlight, and you wonder
who would spend a moment's time talking to a shitty looking bastard like that, much less
why that blonde he's been seeing would waste her time on the guy, except then you remember
how funny the sonofabitch is when he's trippin', so you figger he's not too bad comp'ny
after all. Even if he looks kinda stupid at the moment, so you go ahead and laugh at him,
except he doesn't care, on account of he's already turned tall. And so then.....
