 Unfortunately these numbers are in Hexadecimal, and they need to be in 
decimal to display using alt (unless anyone knows better). Hex to decimal 
conversions should be available on the calcultor function on your P.C. 
(a0  = 160, so if it isn't you can count from there).  
 
 Also, because this is the  ANSI set, a 0 must be entered before the 
number. 

 e.g. � = f8 - convert to decimal = 248 - to display character hold down 
alt, type 0248, release alt. 

 This is a bit of a pain, but it does work in all Windows applications on 
a P.C., at least it does for me! (Windows 2.1 and 3.1, don't know about 
Windows 95).
