Here in North America where it is a tradition, I now have a bowl of
cheap candies to hand out tonight to those "little criminals"

(I particular like the tiniest extortionists who are dressed as little
spiders or pumpkins and come up the walk with their eyes wide and
wondrous that strangers are giving them candy AND their parents lurking
in the background are ALLOWING it! 

The best thing in our neighbourhood is the fellow who puts a speaker
into his jack-o'lantern and hides behind the door with a microphone and
talks to the costumed delinquents as they come up the steps. The
littlest ones have the most earnest conversations with the pumpkin head)
...
