Seems like it. It's there in the post I'm replying to, anyways.

One thing you might want to look into is linelength (looked like you had
somewhat longish lines in your post, but I'm too lazy to double-check
now, what whith the time of day and all ;-)) and your quotation
character. The "~" isn't really common, and some newsreaders have a
really hard time recognizing it for what it's supposed to be...

The safe choice here would be "> " - that's universally recognized. "| "
is also recognized by many newsreaders, but traditionally used for
"3rd-Party" citations (like from a book, or a file or website).
