What a timely post this was! My sixth grade, twice-a-week computer class is learning about ASCII Art. They have word processing in another class. Mine is enrichment. It was immediately obvious how connected ASCII Art is to math. The math-challenged students had a much harder time copying even the simplest character. They also have the most to gain. I am using a LOT from this newsgroup...all with appropriate acknowledgments. After 2 lessons copying simple characters I gleaned from here and web pages mentioned in your posts, we went on to creating signature files. Again, a lot of neat ones from here were used as examples. Since you asked, I would like to post a few of the creations here when they are finished. I am sure they will be thrilled with any comments you may have for them. You folks have a fan club!
