It makes it much easier to use a thread selector in a newsreader like trn. It's nice to have the subject line reflect the contents of the post. Also, if you use Subject IDs, it's also good to change the subject line when following up a post, so the change in the post's contents is reflected in the subject line. -- . + ' . * . .
