Here is the definitive, and quite ancient, "Ascii Mona Lisa" which 
only looks good if printed out using bold or overstrike to get the 
best contrast. I use black print because I do not have a colour 
printer but it may look good in brown or sepia...like the old
photographic prints. 

My printer program will not print lines beginning with a dot so I I 
have made every line in the picture start with a colon to allow 
successful printing.  

The picture actually looks quite horrid and unrecognisable on screen 
but printed onto A4 size paper using "Pica Bold Non-proportional 
Fixed Font" and viewed from a distance of about 5 feet it looks 
quite stunning.  

It is well worth printing out in a suitable font. I have a copy 
pinned on my wall above my computer.
