To be honest I would of found it objectional but would not of posted 
about it.

Gay rape is of course not ok. But if we work on the prolific problem of 
violence against women I don't think that precludes us from working 
against other forms of violence? It might even set an example.

Did you know that in recent official govt stats in NSW, Australia only 
0.4% of women who are sexually assaulted will have the perpetrator(s) 
convicted? Even if you try to most favorably work the stats and make a 
bunch of assumptions the best conviction rate possible is 5% - which is 
still appalling. All defence lawyers will tell you off the record that 
defending the accused in a rape trail is "easy money".

He does... each cartoon taken by itself is entirely discriminatory by 
its very nature. And on a broader scale (which is what you are probably 
referring to) I can think of at least one global discrimination - but I 
hesitate to mention it since it might lead to a Tranism on it. But 
otherwise that is a point.

Indeed - the "battered woman" or "battered wife" syndrome.

But it was a great opportunity to make a timely point since the UN day 
was yesterday then.

This is not really about sexism, although that is part of it. Many 
people have reduced sexism to something not very serious so its 
misleading to some to attach it as the only issue here. The sort of 
sexism involved in the beating of women by men is the brutal deadly kind 
of sexism, not the "oh that's a funny joke about the blonde chick" kind 
of sexism. I refer you also to my previous point in another part of the 
thread;

"Yeah not the point dude, if you knew the stats you'd know we are 
addressing, by far, the most pressing problem first. A simple case of 
priority in problem solving, something every programmer knows. There is 
nothing PC about it. "

But otherwise you make some good points.

Finally no-one is/I'm not trying to say other kinds of violence are 
somehow ok by omission, and that it is the UN Day of Stopping Violence 
Against Women - notice no mention of Men, but everyone opposed assumes 
the "of Men" against Women there... one should ask oneself why is that 
and reflect.

Or not.
