Request: HP-UX Program to Transfer Columns to Rows

Request: HP-UX Program to Transfer Columns to Rows

Have any of you HP-UX/ASCII gurus' got a COLUMN to ROW program.

I have a program that produces this kind of output.

                    |ASCII
                    |Applications
Scripts_____________|Database
                    |X11
                    |VUE
                    |General

But ideally I want to display it as........

			Scripts
			   |
	------------------------------------------
        | | | | | |
ASCII Applications Database X11 VUE General

or even this format would do.....

			S
			c
			r
			i
			p
			t
			s
	------------------------------------------
        | | | | | |
        A A D X V G
        S p a 1 U e
        C p t 1 E n
        I l a e
        I i b r
               c a a
               a s l
               t e
               i
               o
               n
               s

So are there any clever/smart utilites that would create this type of file....

N.B. I am running......

HP-UX at A.09.03X A on a 9000/712

Thanks in advance for any ideas/answers.
