I did a little websearching for you and found http://www.jammed.com/~newzbot/ (and a bunch of other pages .. but this was the best) It's a index of free NNTP servers updated regularly (using some sort of newsbot), which you can search too. I did this search on alt.ascii-art http://www.jammed.com/newzbot-cgi-bin/nph-dbif.cgi?qt=search&orderopt=desc&order=g_msgcount&gro up=alt.ascii-art Check out piggy.rz.tu-ilmenau.de ... it carries 26325 articles from alt.ascii-art .. wauv ! (my ISP's server only carries a few hundred) And it gives me an OK speed too .. but you may want to try other servers depending on your location.
