This thread developed from someone being worried about the future
of the Alt newsgroup, "alt.chinchillas"  when the 
rec.pets.rodents.chinchillas ( Yuk, what a bloated name ) failed.

The ensuing arguments migrated towards the currently fashionable 
discussion of why and how Usenet newsgroups RFDs/CFVs 
affect/do not affect similar alt.groups when the Usenet group 
creations are successful.

( See the "alt.drugs" threads for the daddy-of-them-all in this 
  Usenet/Altnet newgroup/rmgroup flamefest ).

I tried retitling the thread to the subject "rmgroups" but it seems 
that the title " RESULT: rec.pets.rodents.chinchillas fails 58:26? " 
is a far more interesting and attractive subject title than 
"rmgroups" which isn't a proper English word anyway - just jargon.  


And...now that we are in nitpicking mode...this lop-sided Ascii 
Parrot in your Sig has offended my artistic sensibilites long enough 
in your postings, therefore I have done a more symmetrical revision 
of your parrot. If you wish to continue with your original version 
then you should propose the creation of the following newsgroup: 

    "rec.animals.pets.birds.distorted.ascii.parrots"    Hah !!!
