I think the concern that an99451 raises is legitimate but overinflated. Most of the fears that people have brought up (without moderation we'll drown in noise; moderation is censorship; etc.) seem to me legitimate but overinflated. Usenet is not embedded in concrete. It changes and adapts, as much as people are willing to. At this point, apathy takes over. Problems can be dealt with as they arise. No need to spend effort fixing problems that may never materialize. --
