Good news: the "plastic bag trick" is already finished and will be
included in the next release. You can have a look at a screenshot:

Dithering is a good idea and I will think about it. I know lots of
algorithms for bitmap images but one has to adapt them to Ascii art.

Good circles... Well, I have tried to use the line algorithm (for Bezier
curves - but that is similar to drawing ellipses). It seems to work
quite ok for big curves, but not for smaller oes. Here are some
examples:

Well, that can be done by using "8Oo:. .:oO8" as gradient.

Have a look at the curves above - as soon as they look fine ellipse
rotation is not a problem any longer.

Hm, would it be alright to add an option for the text-tool to work like
in normal texteditors?

Will be fixed.

At the moment I am working on (almost) unlimited undo/redo. As soon as
it seems to work fine I will release the next version of Jave. But I
will not have much time during the next weeks, so it may take a while.
