somewhat OT: Barcodes and keyboard strokes

Hello, I'm a lurker on this group. I have no artistic ability, but I like
to see the art, and the art farts are occasionally humorous.

Anyway, where I work we do a lot of bar-coding and scanning to help prevent
typos in the inventory system. We are implementing a new system and have a
need to be able scan a code that would be the equivalent of pressing the
down arrow. In the past we've been able to barcode spaces and tabs and
Carriage returns, but I'm stumped on down arrow. Is it a real character (I
know it's probably not ASCII)? We are currently using a 3 of 9 barcode font
to print the barcodes.

I realize this is off topic and I apologize if it is too far off. This was
one of the places I thought might be good to ask. If anyone can help or
point me to a better place that would be much appreciated.

Also, please keep posting art, I really enjoy it.
