I am now 5 years clean from Magic the Gathering.  But when I played it
I played with the best people in the country and did manythings that I
am sure are against the rulls by now[0].  We used to call it Tragic
The Addiction instad of MTG.  I literaly saw people who stoped doing
meth so that they could devote more time to the game.  When Ice Age
came out people where buying a box a day to sustain their habit.  

[0] try this one using 1996 rules.

    1 zuren orb 
    4 fastbond 
    1 glacial casom 
    4 veridain enchantres
    4 of the enchantment version of a vesuvian dopleganger
    4 wild groths
    20 old school dual lands of mostly forest and water types.
    1 time twister
    1 brain guiser
    4 counter spells.
    1 feldons cain.
    season to taste but don't use ANY moxs or non basic lands other
    than the glacial casim.  
    The result is infanit recursion with unlimited mana that can be
    tapped into the brain guiser.

    Don't even get me started on my other decks.
