It's strange that you mention this, since I realized early on that the
style of ASCII art that I developed over 9 months ago had a cartoon-like
simplicity.  Perhaps it's the simplicity that attracted me to it.  I
realize  that there is a flatness to the pictures that are drawn like
that, but I don't mind flatness.  Earth was thought to be flat at one
time too!  :-)

I have seen pictures drawn entirely of one colour, black, with no
shades of grey at all and I liked very much the overall look.  I try
to do the same thing with my ASCII drawings.  I consider all the
characters to be of the same colour and the set of characters I
favor tend to have just about the same intensity.  I guess I just
like it when things are black and white, on or off.  Hmmm, here's
that computer background again.

Just like there are various styles of pure art, so there are
different styles of ASCII art.  I selected my style early on
and it looks like I'll keep it for a long time, although I'm
starting to like line art too.
