No, sorry (it was in the beginning, now not any longer).
But it is only about 1MB (about 700kB for the basic package and about
500kB for the optional figlet font package), but unfortunately you have
to install a Java Runtime Environment (JRE). This one is rather big, but
maybe you already have installed it somewhere?

Alas no. This is what I am balking at. I am very afraid of repeating

'plugin' is not the right word - it is a 'java application'. And it runs
unter most versions of Windows, Linux and Solaris. Some people even
reported that it runs on OS/2 and MacOS - but I cannot verify this.
(Anyone who want's to give me a Mac machine for free? ;-))
Any machine with a Java Runtime Environment 1.1 or greater is ok.

Heh heh, very amusing, joris. We FINALLY broke down and upgraded to
NS4.73 but we are still running Win95 and are on a dialup connection
that sometimes (more often than not these days) inexplicably
disconnects. However, I'll have you know that we are firmly in the
20th century now, and even have a scanner.
