Lately, I seem to be using windows more than linux for my newsgroup reading,
and as such, some of the posts are showing up in a proportional font instead
of fixed-width. I changed both reading fonts to Courier New (also tried
Lucida Console), but I still have the proportional problem on occasion.
Also, OE keeps turning things into hyperlinks. Does anyone know how to turn
this off? Thanks for your help!

The right way to fix it: =)
I don't know what newsreader you where using on Linux but odds are
there is a windows port of it.

The wrong way to fix it: =(
You can right click on your desktop
and click on properties, click on apperance and change the font.

Go to "Extra"
"Options"
"Reading"
"International ......." (the button next to "Fonts" button)
"Use standardcoding for all incoming messages" should be marked.

I have a Dutch version of Outlook Express, so I had to translate this.
Translating from English to Dutch is easier for me than the other way
around.

There's a "Decoder" on your OE-taskbar.
If you click this twice, then you should see the original post the way it
was meant to look like.
