Pic-ascii converter

Anyone who can tell me where to find a program to convert pictures to
ascii that'll work on a Macintosh comptuer? Thanks a lot.

JavE works on the Mac if there is the Macintosh Runtime Environment for
Java (MRJ) installed. Installation will be a little tricky, but I do not
have access to a Mac so I can not give you more information about it as
already written in the readme-file contained in the JavE download
package.

BTW: The new version 2.0 should be finished in about 4 days :-)

Any idea if it'll work for OS 7.5.5?

It depends on if the MRJ (Macintosh Runtime Environment for Java) works
with that version. I have tried to find out more about it, but all I
found is this:
  http://www.info.apple.com/support/downloads.html
There is a link to a 5.1MB file containing the MRJ.

I can not unpack it on my system and I can not find any further
documentation... :-(
