colored ascii in html ?

maybe dats a bit off - topik but id like to know
if deres a program wich would konvert kolored
ascii or ansi to html so that i can present dem 
in e-mail and webpages

ASCII Editor can color ASCII-art. The program optimize the
HTML code and has different save formats. The new version
(update 1.3 is available) can import ANSI art.

(Web) Restrictions:
- Web pages can't display extended characters without a
  additional font. (download the font component, or replace
  them by standard characters)
- OS: Windows

I've written a different program some time back.
It takes a bitmap and converts it to colored HTML.
Two pixels (vertically) in the source bitmap become
one character in HTML. You feed the program a bitmap
and a file with characters to use in the HTML.
