I happened to see some of that show tonight... interesting, but raised a question.  The 
DNA samples of living people they found, could they really be said to be equally 
representative of both Europe and Africa (and other continents, for that matter)?  I mean, 
how many DNA specialists are there per capita in the different areas?  Even if they got 
the samples and analysed them later, how sure are they that a representative sample was 
taken?  I suspect the slave trading areas are more developed than other areas, but there 
is still geographically separated places to think about.

They mentioned that over 10,000 DNA samples had been collected in
Africa from some prior project.  Sounds like a pretty good sampling to
me.
