       But the ASCII art obviously refers to this weeks news story about 
the "Human Cannonball" who was recently fired (laid off) from his job 
because of a damaged ankle. He was suing for his job back, and the 
newsreaders were being very, painfully, careful to use terms such as "laid 
off", "sacked", "made unemployed", instead of the normal "fired. 
       But this is obviously sedendipity, not planning on FT's behalf.
