Question: HELP -- How to key in ESC[ on VAX or PC or UNIX or ...

I've got the alt.ascii-art FAQ.  And I try use Ctrl-V and Crtl-[ to
simulated the ESC[.  But it doesn't work.

when I type the "Ctrl-V Crtl-[ 5m TEST Crtl-V Crtl-[ 0m"
then using the type I got "m TEST m" on the screen.

I need you help.

Since you're probably putting all this into a file, most editors
allow you to put in a control character by entering its ASCII
code.

For the VAX, if you're using the EDT editor (or EVE -- a
_GOOD_ editor -- with the SET KEYPAD EDT enabled, I don't 
know how to use the default EVE keypad off hand) try:

<PF1>27<PF1><KP3>

Where: <PF1> is the PF1 (gold) dey on the keypad
and    <KP3> is the 3 key ON THE KEYPAD

Since 27 is the ASCII code for <ESC> this should do it.

Similarily, since ^A is ASCII 1, I guess ^V should be ASCII 22
