January 1995 ushered in a mandatory New Year's Resolution:  Make.More.RAM!
Due to the demands of my NewsGroup's 70,000 subscribers, 1467 email messages
-in-holding and obsessive saving/collecting/sorting of every article, joke,
and ascii gem on the Infobahn, my 1989 Amiga 2000 CrashMaster was just .02% 
away from attaining Critical Storage.

Reading my incessant posting-complaints on the    | _______________ |

went out and _bought_ an Amiga DOS 2.1 (with the  | | _ __/||__|=|| |     
Norse language option:) and RAM Upgrade Kit, and  | | \`O.o'   |_|| |     
sent them to Wiz-World as a surprise gift!  Dave  | | =(_ _)=.....| |     
also email-collaborated with MERIDAY BETH KOMOR,  | |    U  :core:| |     
arranging for a local Wizardess of the West to    | |=======:dump:| |     
perform the transplant of the Amiga-Brain -- as   | ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |     
I'd cashed in another set of rare comics to buy   | COM-1084GigaRad |     
a $280 Quantum 540-meg SCSI Hard Drive at Fry's.  L_________________j

It was a dark and stormy night when Wizardess   _____[___________]____    
*JOANNE DOW* and her faithful assistant/main-  T            ___   ___ T   
squeeze *LOREN WILTON* welcomed me into their  |   AMIGA   [===]_[===]|=[]
ocean-side complex.  We lifted the patient up  |CrashMaster   ______  | ||
to the Operating Room (filled with banks of    |   2000+     [______] | ||
equipment, huge monitors with incredibly fine  L______________________j (]=O
displays -- I had no idea Amigas were capable   [______________[M_[J_]    
of such flicker-free brilliance and clarity).    ____________________

Lightning flashed!!  Sparks and ozone filled   /Ooooooooooooooo OOoooo\   
the air!  Joanne had seen enough, unplugging  //_)OOOOOOOOOOOOO  o oooo\  
my CrashMaster to commence surgery.  The     //Z][___________][] OO oooO\ 
new drive was formatted -- then 5 years &   (____________________________)
a billion bytes made the leap to lightspeed 
and a new home.  The Witzany chips and disks were added, plus more things
Joanne kept bringing from all her "boxes of goodies".  Meanwhile, Loren
kept copying programs from their master files, handing floppies to Joanne
for installation.  With Amiga parts getting rare as producer-ethics, Loren
even repaired the Commodore connector-cable ripped by the last earthquake.  

Total time for the ROM-ectomy:  6pm Sunday to 3am Monday morning.  This
is what you call a Truly Dedicated Friendship.  (Especially when Joanne
knows full well I'll be calling for _weeks_, asking her to explain what
the h**k all of these things DO!?! ;)
 
But enough to aver:  mi Amiga LIVES!  With new colors, finer details, the
li'l screen-buttons have shadings...and she doesn't even ~smoke~ anymore!!
I can now COLUMNAR-CUT & PASTE!!  I also have an AURORA-like Screen-Saver
scintillating across my high-rad monitor!  *POWER* is at my fingertips!!
Yea Verily -- let those Hollywood Computer Wizards TREMBLE -- for *I* am
truly _bounding_back_from_the_grave_ and NOTHING c%segmentation error
