The easiest way killfile these posts is to kill repeats of punctuation
in the subject line.  This kills a lot of spam and newbiews who like
to do things like end the subject with something like '!!!'.

   FWIW, I believe the two recent "spam" posters have arranged their
subject lines so that sorting the thread subjects will reveal an image,
which would be on-topic here if it weren't intentionally annoying.
Unfortunately, I don't have any newsreader capable of displaying the
whole image (and I'm certainly not going to waste time cut-and-pasting
it together) --- but from context I'm pretty sure that we won't be
hearing from spamfredo et al. for another year or so. ;)

yep - the last "llll" one, anyway, spells out "Happy New Year"
