Nah, now you have to do too much extra work to get anything productive done..
;-) Endless configuration, compiling new software when the package installs
are broken, etc.. And when it's done, you find a new piece of software you
just must have and start levering that into the system..

Read bugtrack and hope your software isn't there, then you find out it is and
of course there's no package of it yet so you have to compile and configure it
to work..

Choose AmigaOS! :-)

"I see", said the blind man as he picked up his hammer and saw.

I once did a list of computer users with things like
script kiddie: lets start some shit
windows user: shit it crashed again

one of the ones on there was for you:
amiga user: i'm telling you this shit is coming back

as far as everything you said about linux, its all true.
accept Linux into your hart and all your sins will be forgiven
linux is my shepherd
i shall not want any other OS

ok i will stop now

Hehe.. :-D I don't believe Amiga will rise again.. :-) I just wrote that to
note that Linux isn't the only "alternative os" out there and it isn't
necessarily all smiles when you use it like people always seem to say.

I still like my Amigas, though.. Growing up with one left it's marks.

<ramble>
I have marks too. Norton Comander and Xtree from my first computer.
A little 286. After the parents gave that away and got a windows box
to replace it they passworded the whole damn thing makeing it
unusable, so the next computer i owned was a win95 lappy. within 2
months I installed Linux so I could reenbrace the command line.
I dont even have a mouse pluged into this box, and no GUI, i have had
this box for about 2 months now and i still havent pluged in my sound
card, I can't get my #9 gaphics card to display any graphics but i am
still doing a great deal of work in an environment that most windows
useres would find inhospitable. no pr0n no mp3s just work.

The answer is Debian GNU/Linux!

The answer is 42.
The question is Slackware.

If it's a Pentium class PC, the solution is definitely BeOS. :-)
