On a Mac it's CMD-SHIFT-3. I don't know how it's done on a wintel computer, but it's possible. Just open your ascii image in some texteditor and make a screenshot. In a graphic editing program open the screenshot, cut all the parts you don't need and convert the image to GIF. That's all. Greetz, Bamboo

Unfortunately in many cases the results aren't really good, but as a starting point they are ok. You can download the app at: http://download.cnet.com/downloads/0-10217-100-870998.html?tag=st.dl.1000 5-103-1.lst-7-3.870998 (Make sure you copy the entire URL and paste it into your browsers adressbar). Paint Shop Pro comes with a very good screen shot grabber, including one where you select the exact area you want to grab. it's also able to save direct into gif, and is generally the best graphics package I've come across. -- o |\ _[] L_ === Stuart Moore []\, stm

Otherwise, take a look at one of the conversion programs (www.jave.de is an excellent one to play with, it's an ascii art editor as well as including the image conversion and a lot of other advanced features. I don't like doing that and so I spend about an hour a day working on Jave and reading ascii art newsgroups. And by working on Jave a learn a lot about writing software, product support, etc. So I see this project as part of my degree. :) Markus > *Bare in mind when reading this I'm about to become a uni student, and fully > intend to program in my free time, with luck charging for the privalege. :-)
