I'd really like to find a jpeg to ascii converter.  Is there one out there?

   I don't recall seeing one, but I'm sure somebody will post if they 
know of one.  In the meantime, you can always just convert your jpeg to a 
gif with the appropriate graphics app, and go from there with a GIF to 
ASCII converter.

   BTW, remember that there's more to making conversions than just 
running them through the converter.  Check out the FAQ for info.

I use djpeg to convert jpeg images to gif images, then use gifscii to
convert them to ascii images.  I get best results by converting them to
grayscale gifs first.
