It appears that some people were confused by the above ballot and casted
invalid votes. Although there is some argument as to whether people too
stupid to punch a hole in the right place should be allowed to elect the
President, most states have now agreed to turn to CAV (computer assisted
vote) for future elections. The only remaining question is which
plateform to use.

The Democrats have proposed a Windows(tm) implementation, based on an
algorithm written by Al Gore himself. Here is a demo of it:

The Republican Party on the other hand, favors a MacIntosh
implementation. Here is a preview of the beta version, which was
designed by George W. with the assistance of the world-famous electoral
expert Sloppodone Mistosevice:

The above is a satyric cartoon intended for entertainement only. Its
contents do not necessarily reflect the views of my employer. Nor mines
for that matter: I'm a swiss citizen and have little interest in
american politics. Until now, that is. All of a sudden it became so much
more fun than in Switzerland! (Heck, I don't even know who the swiss
president is). May be I should consider naturalization?

not so
there have been cases where one of the major political parties comes
into the geto and registers voters and has them sign there name
then on election day they come back with a bus load every one in
and hand out samples of how there ballot should look after they punch all
the holes

in return they get nice things like a INS (imagration) office in there
local naighborhood and the cycle starts anew

Why can't you guys keep things simple? Here in Finland our vote sheets are
like so:

| | |
|_________________|_________________|

In the circle you simply write (in handwriting that's readable) the number of
the person you want to vote. There's a list of all the participants and their
vote numbers on the wall of the voting booth in case you forget.

If there's anything else but a number on the vote sheet, the sheet is
automatically rejected, and this is made very clear to the voters. Still, a
number of rebellious people vote for Donald Duck or some other cartoon
character.. Also various obscenities are quite popular. :-) When I don't have
anyone to vote for, I just stay at home.

You need to be literate in order to use this system, but I think that is
required to be able to locate the correct box to punch your hole in too.. :-)

Oh, I think there's also a guide on how to make clear numbers somewhere in the
voting booth or behind the vote sheet.. I can't remember, it's a few years
since I last voted for anyone in politics. (I've voted for several productions
at Demo parties, though ;-)

You should move to Sweden then. Here it is quite OK to vote for anybody
you like, e.g. Donald Duck (and The Donald Duck Party always gets a few
votes!).

In denmark you can only vote on people who actually want to be elected.
