(from a picture of a cave painting)

i've made a little tool for Netscape Navigator 4.04+ -ONLY-
based on a demo that Meph got from netscape.com

you've prob'ly seen hundreds like this already ...
it is a generic slide-show viewer and is nothing special
i am providing reference to it here because you may find
it useful

if you'd thought you'd like to try to do an ascii-animation
but didn't want to mess with javascript or special formatting
of the pics you draw ... then try this

NOTE: this has been tested (and working) on:

        win95  - Ns4.04, Ns4.5, Ns4.7
        win98  - Ns4.7
        winNT  - Ns4.05
        mac-os - Ns4.5
        linux  - Ns4.05, Ns4.6

NOTE:   win95  - Ns4.01 failed! (soft-coded <LAYER> problem)

on-line test:
  http://www.shieldwolf.demon.co.uk/anim/ns4view.htm

on-line demo:
  http://www.shieldwolf.demon.co.uk/anim/ns4viewd.htm

the kit:
  http://www.shieldwolf.demon.co.uk/download/ns4view.zip
  (i put this little kit together just for fun : 6kb =)

the help sheet:
       .----------------------.
      (  -= Ns4 Viewer Pro =-  )
       `----------------------'
 This is a little tool I use to view
 HTML (colour ascii) animation frames
 made with Netscape-4 Composer or
 Meph's AsciiEditor4 when developing
 an ascii-animation storyboard.

            -= HOW-TO =-
  1. Using an HTML editor
  2. select 'preformatted text'
  3. draw a picture using ascii
  4. save as "test0.htm"
  5. change the drawing/colour
  6. save as "test1.htm"
  7. change the drawing/colour
  8. save as "test2.htm"
  9. change the drawing/colour
 10. save as "test3.htm"
 11. copy ns4view.htm to same directory
 12. load ns4view.htm into Netscape-4

            -= TECHNO =-
 To cusomize/configure the program
 change the values in the header to
 suit your requirements :

 count = 3; last file number
 prefix  = "test";  filename base
 suffix  = ".htm";  filename extender
 delay   = 200;     running speed

 valid file extenders:-
    htm,html,gif,jpg,jpeg,xbm
