has anyone here installed the console ascii version of quake? any problems any coments? i want to know how good it works befor i reboot to windows and install the win version i have and ftp all of it to the laptop and then install the ttyquake package and find out its just not worth it -- --(UIN=66618055)-- --(tty1@faux.local_04:45_/home/faux)-- cat .sig GUI's are for slackers. ibpconf.sh 5 on freshmeat.net The easiest way to customize the command line. Try it in an X term in a really small font. I had a few problems with keyboard repeat making it impossible to turn properly, but that might just be my setup. well i tried to install it on the mandrake box i got lots of sigfaults and played with some symbolic links to the librarys to see if the matching ones already on my system worked better. and after a while fixed that but now it's just like regular quake and on the slackware box quake yelled at me about not haveing libX11.so.6 which is understandable cus i dont have x but why was it looking there in the first place? so i installed the slack package for that and reset the lib path in ttyquake and now it tells me libX11.so.6 has a invalid elf header now its pissing me off. so time to uninstall that package and find another way. time to post in one of the quake groups and see what i can find. --(Once apon a time, in alt.ascii-art,)-- --(Harry J Mason said it like only they can.)-- >> has anyone here installed the console ascii version of quake? >> any problems any coments? > >Yeah.
