Why not? ASCII art has the highest hardware/software support for
universal compatability. :)
Besides, they usually use less disk space...

I thought of a neat idea for ASCII art. Now if only someone will implement it. (I don't have time, I work for a living. :) If some one captures a running series of ASCGIF19 images and wrote a program to display them as a movie it would be mind bobbling! One could easily optimize it to update only the changed "letters" and it could be quiet fast. Its a thought anyway.
