Newsfeed problems

Newsfeed problems

alt.ascii-art · 5 messages · 28 Feb 1998 - 9 Mar 1998
I have been having newsfeed problems since a change in our newsfeed
supplier.

Since 18 Feb 1998 I have only been seeing about 5 to 10 new postings
a day in alt.ascii-art whereas normally there would probably be 20 to 40.

What has the number of new daily postings been like since Feb 20 ?
Is it my newsfeed or are there actually less postings in alt.ascii-art ?

Bye,

Both?
Sounds like it's your newsfeed though it has been a quit week.

Dejanews (again) shows :

day no. of posts to alt.ascii-art
20/02/98 24
21/02/98 16
22/02/98 35
23/02/98 18
24/02/98 16
25/02/98 17
26/02/08 23

And luckily I've seen them all. ;)

Colin,

Many of us are experiencing similar problems. For instance, I will see
a reply to a message before I see the original post. Sometimes said original
post will show up 2 weeks after the reply, and sometimes I will NEVER see the
message.

Thanks for that response which illustrates _very well_ exactly what
you are saying.

My original posting was Feb 28, your response was posted on March 2
and I have only just seen your response today , March 9.

My situation is rather more complex because my ISP has chosen to
drop certain lesser-used newsgroups from the main newsfeed and
supply them only through a Cache...alt.ascii-art is in the cache
so now I can only respond to posts via the cache but it seems I can
make entirely new postings through the main feed as before. It is
rather a messy business right now :-(

I have been uncertain about whether any of my posts have been
getting through since early February but it seems as though they
have got through even if somewhat delayed.
