Congratulations to Bob Allison for plugging away for a worthwhile and
necessary group.

We are all going to benefit from his dedication and very hard work.

Three cheers, I say! Any backers? Newbies who have already begun to enjoy?

I am that very newbie of whom you speak, Doris. Very impressed with the
Scarecrow-guy. I thought, when the rec.arts.ascii group was being
debated, that his concept of what a moderator should be very much
matched my own [aaaargghh... disclaimer: the Crow is a 'puter wizard,
whereas I had to have mine-- which I got ten months ago, hadn't even
been in the same room with one before that-- completely set up for my
completely ignorant self.]

But it already seems clear to me that there will have to be *some*
moderation, by and large, in the newsgroups, to deal with the infamous
"Make Money Fast", those creepy green card lawyers, etc. I mean, there
are those whose main attraction to the Internet is the idea of abusing
it.

Furthermore, quoting the Swedish Chef:

I for one have been looking for this group for about a year now! Since we
do not get any alt. groups at this site, it is really hard to find a group
just for what I'm looking for. Sorry I missed the CFV!
P.S. my account IME...@TREX.OSCS.MONTANA.EDU is no longer around, so this
will be my posting address from now on =] I still get e-mail at:
