Is there MS Windows software available for converting a
bmp, pcx, or tiff to ascii-art?

Sorry if this is an FAQ, but I don't subscribe to this group.
Thus, I would request that any replies be emailed to me directly.

Thanks everyone.

I had a great program in college which lets you input text and it prints
out on continious paper in large letters...basically like a very long
poster
Anyone know of this program and where I can get it.
Not even sure what to search for

     Thanks in anticipation

I used to use this progam too, at University. About a month ago I found
it again but seeing as I do not have a tractor feed printer anymore, nor
University stationary supplies to feed it, I ditched the software. It
was called BANNER. Unfortunately I cannot remember where I got it from
though. Sorry I cannot be of any more help.

There is a program called "banner" which has been a UNIX
standard for years. You can find C source code for it wherever
you'd find most unix utilities. There are probably versions
for DOS available.
