The HTML isn't the best I've seen, but not the worst either - I think it might even pass validation. Except for one thing. Your editor is turning spaces in your pics into non-breaking spaces (char 160 in ISO-8859-1). This in itself isn't so bad, just unnecessary, but then the editor perversely insists on using the named entity instead of the character itself. This does very, very, very bad things to the size of your page.
