Nope...you cannot start from the date...

The comment lines fooled me for some time until I studied the
headers of a number of fonts.

The very first line is "Figlet's Control Line" and does _NOT_ count
as a comment line (which is actually an abbreviation of the listed
comments, the 15 number specifying the number of comment lines).

The _second_ line following the Control Line is actually the first
Comment Line and you count from there including any blank lines till
the characters begin.

The best way to check is using CHKFONT.EXE  which comes with
FIGLET.EXE in the Figlet package along wiht the common Fonts.
