Col...@equinox.gen.nz (Colin Douthwaite) writes in news.groups: |Requests do not bother me at all. I believe that requests, reposts |and even arguments have a valuable place in an ascii-art newsgroup - |I don't want it sanitised by moderators - but you do - OK we differ. Then if the new group passes, you should start right away at getting a companian rec.arts.ascii.d (UNModerated) group started. Or hope that both groups continue, much like the current rec.arts.erotica/alt.sex.stories split of material. |> Besides, let's face it; it looks like most of usenet will be |> moderated in the next few years... | |In the words of that classic line by John Wayne: | | "That'll be the day !" Actually, he's right. It's being forced on groups by people like S*rd*r Arg*c, the Green Card lawyers, and the flood of newbies who refuse to read the FAQ or even the group before posting questions that end with "oh and mail me since I'm not gonna bother looking here for answers." -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alan Coopersmith Internet: ala...@ocf.berkeley.edu U.C.
