You wait a week to call me a cock?  Damn.  You must really like me.

Anyway all things are relative.  THIS group is an ASCII group.  He
came in advertising ASCII but made other comments that did not lend
weight to the idea that ASCII was actually what he meant.  What he
meant was ANSI.  This group and my ideas do not represent the entire
scene.  But in his posts he claimed to represent the whole scene
(ASCII/ANSI) but was unable to differentiate between the two and
maintained that they were interchangeable.  Would you vote for a guy who
ran under the idea of being a Democrat and then stepping up to the
ballot and finding a (R) next to his name?  One must accurately
represent what they are selling.  He was selling ANSI but advertising
ASCII.  That is not good for the scene.  Especially in an ASCII group.

And please refrain from the ad hominem attacks.  They don't do much
to strengthen your arguments.

But ANSI is not acceptable in THIS ASCII GROUP.  This group gets
pissed about non-ascii char sets, groups.google colorized art.  You
name it.  This is alt.ascii-art, and not alt.ansi-art.  ASCII existed
before ANSI and while ASCII is a subset of ANSI just as a square is a
rectangle a rectangle is not always a square.

ANSI can be ASCII but it doesn't work the other way.

And that is all fine and good.  I haven't got a problem with ANSI
art.  I haven't got a problem with ANSI artists who also do ASCII
art.  I have a problem with people advertising ASCII and then offering
ANSI and not knowing (much less acknowledging) the difference.  Add to
that a web site that isn't even compliant to text based browsers
(Which I use) and we are looking at some real issues for the scene.

The world (especially art and computers) revolve around technical
differences.  And I have been called an unperson before so you will
have to try harder if it is your intent to continue the ad hominem
attacks.

Because it was advertised as an ascii group and not an ansi one.  And
that a the site he offered won't even display on a text browser or
mozilla (netscape based browser for those not in the know).
